#1

Installation failure

Error: -2 The system cannot find the file specified

Previous version uninstalled incorrectly

1. Remove all previous version files and registry entries. Use specialized cleanup tools such as Windows Troubleshooter.

2. Run regedit.exe and delete registry keys under:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\InstallShield Uninstall Information\{GUID}

and

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{GUID}

Identify the correct GUID by checking the "DisplayName" key value matching the product name.

3. For InstallScript MSI setups, remove:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\InstallShield_{GUID}

4. Navigate to the hidden folder, create a backup, then delete:

<ProgramFiles>\InstallShield Installation Information\{GUID}

Warning: Exercise caution as this may affect other installations.

  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\PSRE LTD\CTAPTPR\04.85
