The START-PROF API enables external applications written in C#, Basic, and other programming languages to create, modify, and analyze piping models using START-PROF, and to retrieve analysis results. This interface supports the development of plug-ins for START-PROF.
Typical Applications
Several existing plug-ins utilize the START-PROF API, including: PCF Export, PCF Import, Caesar II Export, Caesar II Import, and PDMS Import.
Companies can develop custom plug-ins to integrate START-PROF seamlessly into their workflow. For example, a plug-in can automatically launch START-PROF stress analysis from 3D modeling software in the background, return results, and generate reports using corporate templates.
The API also supports the development of data converters between START-PROF and other applications. Based on our experience, a programmer with C# or Basic skills can develop a converter of average complexity within 2–4 weeks.
Additionally, you can create plug-ins for piping model optimization or for running complex parametric stress analysis sequences.
