PASS/NOZZLE-FEM 3.5. Program Manual

3.1. Starting

3.1.1. General

The programm storages data in own format files. Version 3.0 introduces a new data format for files, which have *.nzldb  extension. This file type contains all the data of the interface, models (including conical reducers and heads) and the calculation results. The program allows you to open old formats used up to version 2.16 inclusive, *.nzl  and *.nzlc , which are automatically converted to the new format.

The calculation results are stored in the project file *.nzldb, and the html-report is in the hidden subdirectory *.nzl_result, where the project file is located. This folder is managed by the program in automatic mode.

Current file name will be displayed in the program window title bar.

3.1.2. Creation, reading and recording of initial data and calculation results

For creating and opening a new data file use a Create command in the main menu or toolbar.

The Create command sets the source data to default values. The project file will be created only when saved. At that for the first time after creation of the new file the Save command will work as the Save as command.

To save data entered in the current open file select Save in the main menu or use in the toolbar.

To save data in the file with another name select Save as in the main menu. At that, if required, an appropriate file will be created and opened. It will become a current data file for the program. This command also exports the PASS/NOZZLE-FEM data to a UTF-8 encoded XML file. In this case, two export options are possible:

To create and read existing data file select Open command in the main menu or toolbar.

For proper displaying of images and report formulas a user should do the following: in the Internet Explorer program settings activate picture displaying (Service→Internet options→Advanced→Multimedia→Show pictures).
