Large models with closed loops typically analyze slowly due to increased stiffness matrix bandwidth. Analysis time increases with the square of matrix bandwidth.
Temporarily breaking closed loops accelerates analysis by 10-1000 times. Use this technique during intermediate analysis runs while developing or refining your piping stress model.
After model completion, reconnect all break points and run the final analysis.

In PASS/START-PROF, add two nodes and delete the pipe between them. Install end caps. To restore connections, delete the caps, select both nodes, and click "Add pipe".
